How to read a company page: status, deadlines, filings and accounts

21 October 2026 · Figures as of 21/10/2026

Every live UK company has a page on Ltd Edition. Search by name or company number on the search page. Here's what you'll find and what it tells you.

Status and age

At the top: the company's status (active, dissolved, in liquidation and so on), its type, its company number and how long it has existed. A brand-new company isn't a warning sign in itself, but it's worth knowing who you're dealing with.

Where it's registered

The local authority area of its registered office, with a small map. If it uses a formation agent's address we say so and don't plot it (why the address isn't the whole story).

Industry

The SIC codes the company chose when it registered: a standard list of activity descriptions. They're self-declared, so treat them as a guide.

Deadlines

When its next accounts and confirmation statement are due, with an Overdue badge if it's late. Late filing isn't always serious, but repeated lateness is worth a question. GOV.UK explains the rules for annual accounts and the confirmation statement.

Filing history, charges and insolvency

The latest filings straight from Companies House, plus any charges (secured lending, such as a bank's charge over property) and insolvency cases. Many companies also get a short, plain-English summary of their last 12 months of filings.

From the accounts

Where the company files accounts in a digital format we can read, we show net assets, cash, turnover and employees, each with the period the figure relates to. Small companies often don't publish turnover.

Officers and people with significant control

Directors and owners are shown to signed-in users, exactly as Companies House publishes them. A free account takes a minute.

Keep an eye on it

Click Track this company to add it to a watchlist, and we'll tell you when it files, changes officers or address, registers a charge, or misses a deadline. Free accounts can watch 10 companies; see plans for more. Prefer the source? Every page links to the company's record on Companies House.
